Construction of Airport Park Begins

Construction is underway for the new public park at Amata Kabua International Airport. The park, to be named the “Katoj-Iakwe Park”, is funded by a U.S grant that was secured by the women’s group, KIO Club.

The park will include (to name a few):

  • A track approximately 1300 feet long around and 10 feet wide, covering a total area of 12,370 square feet
  • Playground equipment
  • A garden
  • Solar lights to illuminate the track at night

The construction of the project is expected to be completed by late summer this year. The RMIPA advises the general public that entry to the area is prohibited during construction for safety reasons.
