In RMIPA’s management of the International Airport and the two main commercial Port facilities on Majuro Atoll, infrastructure development and facility maintenance are key responsibilities. RMIPA is an active participant in the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) administered by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, which focuses on capital improvement projects relating to airport safety and security. Airport improvement projects were identified in RMIPA’s Airport Master Plan (AMP) and Airport Capital Improvement Plan (ACIP).
Ports infrastructure maintenance receives independent funding support from RMIPA’s operational revenue. Our Ports Mater Plan (PMP) for the Port of Majuro is presently undergoing major revision and updating, identifying development goals for the next decade, and how to achieve these goals. RMIPA’s contracting office is tasked with managing the programs and projects that are born of the AMP and PMP. In this regard RMIPA has retained Lyon Associates, Inc. to provide technical assistance and project administration support to the contracting office.
