“The Global ACI-ICAO Airport Management Professional Accreditation Programme (AMPAP) is a strategic initiative born from a partnership between Airports Council International (ACI) and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), launched in March 2007. In recognizing the challenges and complexity that constitute airport management, AMPAP seeks to develop a new generation of airport leaders in all functional areas of the airport business, promote the adherence to the highest professional standards and effective sharing of best managerial practices—all in a cross-cultural, highly interactive learning environment. Successful completion provides its candidates with the opportunity to broaden their career horizons as they earn the ACI-ICAO International Airport Professional (IAP) designation.” IAP candidates are required to successfully complete four mandatory courses and two electives within a three-year time frame. The curriculum for the AMPAP Mandatory Courses is based on expertise requirements in principal areas of functional airport management and the need to heighten and expand awareness of ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices. The four AMPAP mandatory courses focus on targeted expertise:
- Air Transport System (classroom/face-to-face)
- Airport Operations, Safety and Security (online)
- Airport Planning, Development and Environmental Management (online)
- Airport Commercial and Financial Management (online)
RMIPA Board Chairman David Paul wrote, “I wish to take this opportunity to congratulate our Executive Director (ED) for having successfully completing “The Global ACI-ICAO Airport Management Professional Accreditation Programme (AMPAP).
